AtomFilms Relaunches Under MTV

AtomFilms relaunched today with a new site layout and upgrades to its features. Now audiences can watch video in almost DVD-like quality, at up to 700 kbps, add video to other sites, and upload and revisit their favorite content with "My Channel."

All this comes in the wake of MTV's August acquisition of the service. As a result of the acquisition, AtomFilm content may now be aired on TV networks like Comedy Central and Spike TV, also owned by Viacom. AtomFilms Studio is working on developing a number of series and is open to pitches through the site.

AtomFilms' general manager, Scott Roesch, explains, "AtomFilms is a network for original, legal and highly entertaining independent content. Our new site and our position at MTV Networks will enable us to expand on our mission of bringing creative and innovative content to large audiences, and supporting talented independent creators."

Audiences can watch AtomFilm content on their Verizon Wireless mobile devices for free until January through an exclusive partnership.
