MingleNow Bridges Social Networking Gap

BlueLithium Labs' MingleNow is taking on social network giants such as MySpace and FaceBook in hopes of creating a new type of community that will connect the online and offline worlds.

MingleNow enables users to see who is going to be at their chosen location before they leave their home. The network includes video and photo sharing, event planning, calendar functions and Google maps, as well as the ability to import and export feeds and data from other social networks.

"MingleNow grew out of the observation that most of us have one group of friends in the offline world and a different group that you interact with on social networks," explains Gurbaksh Chahal, founder, chairman and CEO of BlueLithium. "It seemed to us that there should be a bridge between the two."

Last month, eMarketer Inc. announced that ad spending on social networks will hit $2.15 billion by 2010.
