Google Inc. has increased privacy on the popular blogging software Blogger this week.
Published under blogspot.com, Blogger is one of the most widely used blogging softwares. Cult favorite PostSecret and top celeb gossip site, Pink is the New Blog, both run on Blogger.
Google -- which acquired Blogger's developer Pyra Labs in February 2003 -- added privacy settings that restrict readership to a predetermined audience.
"Users can choose to have blogs accessible to anyone, or they can list the email addresses of the people they want to let in. Those readers would need to register for a free Google account -- the same used for its Gmail and other services -- and would sign in with their regular Google passwords," reported the Associated Press via Wall Street Journal (subscription required).
These further privacy measures should insure increased security for bloggers, as well as better integration between Google and Blogger.
