Through its purchase, PayPerPost will gain Performance Metrics, a free blog analysis service and Performancing Exchange, an online classifieds site for bloggers.
PayPerPost agreed not to acquire include the Performancing for Firefox blog editor technology and the Performancing Partners ad technology.
Performancing.com has amassed a community of more than 28,000 professionals since its launch in 2005.
"By connecting Performancing's professional services with its own technologies and robust infrastructure, PayPerPost is giving consumer generated media creators a strong and unified source of information," says Nick Wilson, co-founder of Performancing.com. "This is an excellent combination that will continue to serve the needs of bloggers, their sponsors and ultimately their readers."
This month the Federal Trade Commission released a formal staff opinion after a watchdog group known as Commercial Alert filed a petition requesting an investigation on "buzz marketing" and blogs.
During this time, PayPerPost announced the second phase of its full disclosure model, whereby participating consumer content creators are required to disclose their sponsored status.
