Personal Life Media Inc. launched today with content that will include 15 weekly and daily audio shows, podcasts and blogs aimed at 35- to 65-year-old "cultural creatives."
The new network provides socially conscious lifestyle content on such issues as relationships, life purpose, wealth creation, healthy aging and spirituality.
"People on the leading edge of culture, especially those in the 35- to 65-year-old demographic, are clearly underserved in podcast content today and millions of consumers are ripe for a deeply personal, authentic experience that podcasting and blogging easily deliver," said Susan Bratton, co-founder and CEO of Personal Life Media. "We are using podcasting technology to enable experts, authors, PhDs and innovators from anywhere in the world to bring their voices and inspiration directly to the issues of adults."
The media service is available on the website, through leading podcast directories, in iTunes and on iPods and MP3 players. Additional companion content is also available on the blog network.
Geoff Ramsey, co-founder and CEO of eMarketer, Inc., estimates that spending on podcasting advertising will quintuple over the next five years, from an $80 million market in 2006 to $400 million in 2011.
