Claria Set to Monetize PersonalWeb

Online behavioral marketing pioneer Claria Corporation has completed a successful beta program that validates the need for content personalization and advertising that matches web surfer's online interests.

PersonalWeb, a software released for trial in April 2006, can automatically understand users' interests based on their web browsing activities. PersonalWeb can also find extremely targeted ads and relevant content and display the ads and content on a highly personalized homepage.

More than 800,000 people have installed the product. According to Claria's findings, those consumers interact with the personalized homepage up to three times more often than basic portal homepages, and they are responsive to well-tailored banner ads 15 times more than traditional banner ads based on the average click rate.

"After a successful beta period and hundreds of thousands of trial users, we are confident in our ability to provide our partners with a platform for further personalizing their users' web experience." said Scott VanDeVelde, president and CEO of Claria.

Claria has teamed up with Rogers Communications, Corel Corporation and ZTGroup to introduce PersonalWeb to millions of consumers.

"This partnership creates a great business opportunity for us to provide our customers with the most relevant information from all over the web," said Kevin Bartus, vice president of Rogers Digital Media.

Claria plans to announce additional distribution partners in the coming months.
