YouTube Readies Ads for Summer
YouTube advertising chief Suzie Reider confirmed rumors that the video-sharing site would soon offer ads, saying that the company planned to experiment with the length, form and placement of ads by launching the service this summer.
"We're looking at executions like a very quick little intro preceding a video, then the video, then a commercial execution on the backside of the content," Reider said.
Reider said that YouTube hopes to generate a revenue stream with the ads that it can share with the more than 1,000 "premium" content creators who post material on the site.
