Users Report for ABC News

In an attempt to make TV news more relevant to today's youth, ABC has green-lit "i-Caught" for a six-week run. The show is a news magazine stocked with user-generated content.

The bulk of the show will feature video captured by users and uploaded onto the show's website, but ABC news correspondents will build the stories around the content.

Executive Producer David Sloan said the show will take on a breadth of stories, including politics, celebrity news and breaking news.

"The watershed event that changed newsgathering was the London terror attack in 2005," Sloan told Daily Variety. "There were people on that subway who did not know if they would live or die, but they got out their cell phones and started shooting."

The show will air in August, with its companion website set to debut in June to begin gathering content.
