Warner, Disney Help YouTube Test Content ID

Working in conjunction with Time Warner and the Walt Disney Company, YouTube has said it will begin testing a revolutionary new content identification system, according to a Reuters report.

The technology will allow copyright holders to track and identify content uploaded onto YouTube without permission.

If successful, the new technology should help YouTube mitigate its legal entanglements with media giants that have charged the Google-owned company with copyright infringement.
