NBCU: Advertisers Don't Want User Video
NBCU boss Jeff Zucker recently told The Financial Times in an interview that advertisers don't want user-generated content.
"The goal at the beginning here is to have a place for the premium, quality content that the networks and channels are producing that clearly advertisers are clamouring for," Zucker said of the new NBCU/News Corp. joint venture set to launch this fall. "They are not, necessarily, clambering to be allowed to advertise on user-generated content."
Yesterday, NBCU and News Corp. announced that they had tapped Jason Kilar, a former Amazon.com executive, to run the joint venture.
