Changes Afoot at AOL

AOL has overhauled two of its properties, sports and video, in a bid to better engage its users.

Today, AOL launched a new version of its sports site that features a revamped focus on community content and blogs, building on the success of the company's TMZ property.

AOL also launched an update for its video portal. New features for video include a redesigned main page and an enhanced search function that leverages Truveo, a video-specific search tool.

”Online video consumption is likely the fastest growing behavior in the history of the internet, and AOL was one of the first to bring video content to the online masses,” said Fred McIntyre, senior vice president, AOL Video. “Consumers want just one place where they can go to find and watch all of the videos they’re looking for and our new AOL Video portal gives them just that: a single website that brings together millions of videos from across the web.”

Both moves come on the heels of AOL's decision last week to relaunch its news service as a blog.
