Yahoo!, Microsoft to Bend on Privacy
Microsoft and Yahoo! are planning to announce changes in their privacy policies in the next few weeks, according to a report in the Financial Times.
The two companies are expected to limit the amount of time they store user data, but so far neither has provided any details on specific policies.
Both companies are reacting to concerns raised by European regulators that their growing sphere of influence gives them too much access to personal data.
In June, Google agreed to purge user data after 18 months in response to EU regulators who raised privacy concerns surrounding its acquisition of DoubleClick.
