ABC launches YouTube-style news show
"I-Caught," ABC's YouTube-style news show, will premiere tonight as part of the network's bid to further engage viewers by calling upon them to become citizen journalists.
"[The show] is a contextual journalistic magazine where the web clip is just a jumping-off point," host Bill Weir told USA Today. "Then we look at who shot it, who posted it, what happened to them when they did, and what internet fame means."
The show is set to run for five weeks.
When ABC greenlit the show in May, "I-Caught" executive producer David Sloan said the internet has fundamentally changed news gathering, making everyone a potential subject and reporter.
