Happiness is internet and cell phones

Two out of three young people report that cell phones, the internet and other forms of technology are significant parts of their lives, contributing greatly to their overall happiness, according to a joint study by MTV and the Associated Press.

Working with MTV and the AP, Social Technologies polled more than 1,200 young people between the ages of 13 and 24.

The study found that half of those surveyed said the internet alone had the power to make them happier. The same number also reported that they never turn off their cell phones, if when they are looking to relax.

More generally, the survey found that 65 percent of those polled reported being happy, with 62 percent saying they anticipated being happier in the future.
