Eisner, Huffington, Cerf share web forum

WebbyConnect, a summit held in conjunction with the Webby Awards, appears to be off to a stellar start. The organizers have announced that former Walt Disney Co. boss Michael Eisner will give a keynote address.

Eisner, who heads Vuguru, will join "internet founding father" Vinton Cerf and Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington.

"Nobody is in a better position to provide an assessment of the state and future of online entertainment than Michael Eisner," said David-Michel Davies, executive director of The Webby Awards. "With his background in both traditional entertainment and new media, Eisner brings a real-world perspective and candidness to the dialogue that will be invaluable for the WebbyConnect audience."

The three-day WebbyConnect summit, focused on the future of the internet and emerging media, will also feature panelists and speakers such as MySpace co-founder Josh Berman, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, BoingBoing co-editor David Pescovitz and AKQA global creative director Rei Inamoto.

The summit will take place Oct. 3-5 at The St. Regis Resort in Laguna Beach, Calif.
