Joost to bring live TV to web
There's nothing like live TV. That's a sentiment the people at Joost are betting on to help differentiate them from other would-be internet TV providers. The company said it plans to begin showing live content starting in 2008.
Joost, which recently opened to the public, will begin testing live TV early next year.
Yvette Alberdingkthijm, Joost's EVP in charge of content strategy, did not say what shows or events the company was planning to run live.
Late last month, Joost signed a deal with Major League Baseball to broadcast post-season games during 2007. It is unknown whether that deal would apply to regular season games during 2008 and beyond.
