NY Times shifts to blog format for tech

Readers of The New York Times technology section will now get their news from a media outlet that practices what it has been preaching. The paper announced a Web 2.0 makeover for its technology section, which will now deliver blog-style reporting with updates throughout the day.

"This section is essentially all you need to understand everything that is happening, on any given day, in the world of technology," said Lawrence Ingrassia, business and financial editor, The New York Times. "With our reporters breaking news throughout the day on the BITS blog and the aggregation of the best outside content, Times readers will be able to find, consolidated in one place, the most critical and compelling stories about technology each day."

The relaunched section also will include breaking news reports from content partners that include IDG Media Brands and paidContent.org. Content feeds will be provided by Blogrunner.com, a feed aggregator owned by the Times Company.
