Yahoo! develops for Hollywood
As the Hollywood writers' strike continues, at least one TV studio has a new source for content. According to a TV Week story, Yahoo! is developing a series for Twentieth Television, a division of News Corp., to bring hot web videos to TV.
If the project goes into production, it could lead to a nightly show featuring the best of the web. The series could hit TV screens as early as next fall.
While Yahoo is pursuing a content strategy in partnership with established Hollywood production entities, Google made news yesterday with rumors that it was looking to become an internet-based network. According to that story, Google is exploring ways to distribute original content online.
