If you're going to build a destination for TV content online, you better be able to attract more than two networks. While many speculated that Hulu, a joint venture from NBCU and News Corp. would be a digital dumping ground for only two networks, the site's search capabilities prove that there's room for the competition.
Hulu, which recently made its beta debut, allows user to view NBC and Fox shows online. However, searches for shows from rival networks still yield results even if they steer users away from the site.
"Hulu wants to be the first place people think about watching premium programming online," Hulu spokeswoman Christina Lee told Ad Age. "We'll continue to innovate on features like this throughout the private beta to help people find and enjoy premium content whether or not it is currently featured on Hulu.com."
