OpenSocial could be hacker's delight

OpenSocial is raising eyebrows among security experts who say Google's plan to break down barriers across social networks could be a boon for hackers.

In a recent Forbes.com story, internet security experts raised concerns that applications made by independent developers might lack the protections found on sites like MySpace and Facebook.

Dan Hubbard, a researcher for the web security firm Websense, called OpenSocial a possible "weakest link" in Web 2.0.

The concern is that users might balk at using OpenSocial if their data cannot be secured.

Google launched OpenSocial in a bid to compete with the growing threat from Facebook.
