LinkedIn may not be as edgy as MySpace or as overloaded with applications as Facebook, but the professional social network appears to have launched a "news feed" that updates members on information that matters to them.
According to a post in TechCrunch, the beta program appears to deliver news based on information in the user's profile. However, unlike Facebook's News Feeds, LinkedIn users won't be updated regarding the movements of their friends. Late last month, MySpace announced that it would launch an application similar to Facebook's signature News Feeds.
How LinkedIn's take on feeds will ultimately work remains unclear. However, the social network has been rolling out new features, including pictures, to match its growing popularity.
In the meantime, it appears that the rumors surrounding a possible acquisition of LinkedIn by News Corp. were untrue.
