Facebook users want cut of ad dollars

Not all Facebook users are adverse to ads it seems. While many Facebook members rejected the Beacon program, prompting founder Mark Zuckerberg to issue a public apology, a handful of members on the site have quietly started selling ads on their own pages.

According to a New York Times blog post, about 1,500 Facebook members are acting in violation of site rules by selling ads on their own pages. The ads come courtesy of Weblo, a firm that estimates the value of a person's page based on how many friends they have. Weblo began its service in October.

In the past, Facebook has frowned on the idea of members selling their own ads because of concerns over cluttered pages.
