Pringles scores more than a jingle

A jingle contest has netted Procter & Gamble's Pringles brand a Christmas day TV ad for the price of a $4,000 prize, reports Ad Age.

Contest winner Nils Elders created the 40-second "Jinglin' Pringlin'" spot in three days on his home computer. The "South Park" inspired animated commercial features a choir of giggling, dancing singing Pringles chips donning Santa hats. It will air during prime time and potentially reach about 10 million viewers in the UK.

P&G launched the "Jingles for Pringles" competition to enlist consumers to write a jingle to run in an agency-created ad, but judged Elders' work good enough to run as a stand-alone spot.
