News Corp and gaming: a match made in heaven?
AOL bought GameDAILY; Vivendi bought Activision; now there's talk that News Corp may also be investing heavily in the gaming space with the purchase of Take-Two Interactive Software. The game publisher is responsible for such hits as Grand Theft Auto.
News Corp already owns IGN Entertainment; Take-Two Interactive Software would further solidify its gaming clout. And owning MySpace, IGN and Take-Two would put News Corp at the forefront of what some think is the next big thing -- the marriage of gaming and social networks.
