Yang's Yahoo gets lean, mean?

If there's one overriding message from Jerry Yang since his return, it's that Yahoo needs to focus on what it does best. That means there's no time for extravagances like producing original Hollywood-style content.

According to a report in The New York Times, Vince Broady, Yahoo's SVP of entertainment, has become the latest casualty since Yang's return

Broady joins a growing list of executive departures at Yahoo as Yang looks to streamline the company and return it to its past glory. In addition to working on entertainment at Yahoo, Broady was the mastermind behind Brand Universe, a project that aimed to develop websites around popular entertainment brands like Harry Potter and Star Wars. That project was axed in December. Broady, who is expected to leave in the next few weeks, had tried but failed to incorporate Brand Universe into Yahoo's advertising group.
