Mystery buyer snaps up Bebo?
Following up on last week's rumor that social networking site Bebo was looking to be acquired, TechCrunch reported that it's highly likely the company did sign a deal on Monday to be acquired -- for a possible price of $1 billion.
The potential buyer remains a mystery.
TechCrunch is putting its money on Google, but Marketing Pilgrim's Andy Beal is betting on Yahoo.
Given Yahoo's desperation to find alternatives to a Microsoft takeover, its acquisition of the second largest social network in the UK, behind Facebook, isn't such a long shot.
Yesterday, Yahoo announced its purchase of Maven Networks for $160M to boost its video capabilities.
