Craigslist, the popular classifieds website that has routinely refused to monetize its massive traffic, may not be of interest to many marketers. But that hasn't stopped Facebook from posting its own Craigslist ad seeking feedback.
TechCrunch reported that Facebook had posted a job ad offering a $25 Visa gift card for anyone willing to "provide feedback on Facebook."
A Facebook official confirmed the ad, saying the company "regularly conducts user testing of the site and its products [and] it uses a variety of methods to recruit users."
There is no word on what project Facebook was testing. However, it is interesting to note that Facebook chose to use Craigslist rather than its own social network to identify and recruit users willing to give feedback. In the past, Facebook users have not been shy about providing unsolicited feedback, most famously when the company launched News Feeds and Beacon, its now scrapped ad platform.
One recent project from Facebook that has made news is its partnership with Paramount Pictures. That deal will allow users to send each other clips of films found in the studio's library. Facebook also is rumored to be in talks with major record labels about bringing free music to the social network.
