Newspaper ad network doubles
Newspapers aren't going away in the digital age, and many of them are beginning to find salvation in the form of ad networks. Today, one of those ad networks, quadrantONE, got a major boost with the announcement that 26 newspapers have joined the consortium founded by Tribune Company, Gannett, Hearst and The New York Times.
The additions effectively double the size of the consortium, which launched in February. New additions include McClatchy Co., the No. 3 U.S. publisher by circulation; A.H. Belo Corp., owner of the Dallas Morning News; and Media General Inc.
Many of the publishers in the quadrantONE network are also part of Yahoo's newspaper publishing group.
