CBS announced plans to launch a new digital ad network focused on college sports enthusiasts.
Dubbed CBS College Sports Media, the network claims to be able to help advertisers reach an estimated 10 million college sports fans. The announcement comes a little more than a month after CBS' March Madness coup. The network streamed the NCAA tournament for free on the web and managed to garner $4.83 per online viewer compared to $4.12 for each television viewer.
According to Jason Kint, SVP of CBSSports.com and CBSNews.com, the new ad network will simplify the media buy for agencies looking to target the college sports fan.
"It's for ease of buying for the media buyer," Kint told Reuters. "The agencies who want to target the college sports fan across CBS, they can easily buy across all of our online businesses that have an affinity with the college sports fan."
