YouTube probably isn't laughing, but just about everyone else is now that Hulu has attracted some top-notch comedy talent in the form of "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report."
Comedy Central elected to syndicate its two most popular shows on Hulu as part of a test, reversing a previous decision to steer clear of the jointly owned News Corp. and NBCU venture.
Comedy Central will receive an unspecified portion of the ad revenue generated by Hulu.
As for Hulu, the video portal has managed to overcome its early skeptics by attracting many of the major networks and selling out of its ad inventory.
Last week, rumors began to circulate that Hulu was in talks with The Walt Disney Co. to bring ABC into its fold. Those rumors remain unconfirmed. However, the content that is on Hulu will likely get more attention from the site's users because of a new search interface that allows people to locate programs without leaving Hulu.
