Yahoo crippled by exec exodus?

After finally getting the Microsoft monkey off its back, Yahoo must now deal with the news that its exodus of executives is continuing, with two senior executives and one longtime employee leaving the web portal.

According to The New York Times' Bits blog, Jeff Weiner, EVP of Yahoo’s network division, and chief data officer Usama Fayyad are the latest to depart.

Weiner was responsible for many of Yahoo's services, including search, which saw a steady decline during Weiner's tenure as Google rose to power.

On top of that, Jeremy Zawodny, who helped found Yahoo's developer department, announced via a blog post that he will leave in the coming weeks.

There's no word on what caused Weiner and Fayyad to leave the company, but Zawodny said his departure is because of a new job opportunity and is unrelated to the recent turbulent times at Yahoo.

The three departures are the latest in a steady chain of executives leaving Yahoo. In January, it was former SVP of entertainment Vince Broady who bid Jerry Yang and company adieu.
