Glam gobbles global ad sales

Glam Media, by some accounts the largest publisher network focused on the female audience, has announced the acquisition of Monetise, an international ad sales firm.

At the core of the deal is a bid by Glam to launch a global sales initiative. According to a report in The Wall Street Journal, Glam could have operations up and running in the U.K., Germany, France, Japan, India and China within the year.

The acquisition comes amid increased competition in the ad network space as more players scramble to siphon off the influx of ad dollars.

Glam did not disclose the terms of the deal.
