Google's famously clean search interface may not change anytime soon, but the company could be moving closer to customized search results with the news that it is expanding its year-long experiment on that topic.
The experimental search interface allows users to reorder the results and suggests alternatives. Web developer Justin Hileman posted a play-by-play of the new tool on his blog.
The most recent updates to the experiment appear to be the ability to change your mind and a color-coded tagging system. Google also appears to have created a brief animation that plays when the user chooses to move a result.
According to TechCrunch, Google is in the process of bucket testing the new interface, which means that a random collection of users will have the ability to alter their search results. If all goes well, Google could move the test to its experimental area, which would allow any user to take advantage of the new interface.
