Controversial ad deal delayed

Google and Yahoo will now delay their controversial ad deal until after Justice Department attorneys have had an opportunity to scrutinize the agreement. The two companies had planned to move forward on the search deal as early as this month.

The deal, which would effectively outsource Yahoo's search advertising business to Google, has drawn the ire of many in the online advertising industry who worry that Google would have a de facto monopoly.

According to a report in The New York Times, Justice Department lawyers are expected to conclude their review of the deal by the end of the month.
