Monty Python strikes back at YouTube

The members of Monty Python were quite disgruntled to find clips from their television series and films being posted on YouTube without their consent. But rather than file a lawsuit, the group did what no one expected. No, it didn't re-launch the Spanish Inquisition; Monty Python instead launched its own YouTube channel.

The channel features some of the group's most famous bits, including the black knight scene from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and silly sketches from "Monty Python's Flying Circus." A brief video on the channel promises, "No more of those crap quality videos you've been posting. We're giving you the real thing -- high quality videos delivered straight from our vault."

While the famed comedy troupe promises more clips, it wants a little help from their friends as well.

"But we want something in return," explains the narrator in the introductory video. "None of your driveling, mindless comments. Instead, we want you to click on the links, buy our movies and TV shows and soften our pain and disgust at being ripped off all these years."
