Twitter: A new haven for spammers?
Twitter co-founder Biz Stone calls the service a method of graceful communication, "like a flock of birds choreographed in flight," according to New York Magazine. But spammers using a malware tool called Tweet Tornado could soon be knocking those tweets out of sync.

Twitter may find itself invaded by spammers who use Tweet Tornado to create as many user accounts as they like, PC World reports. The micro-blogging service does not currently require new members to verify their email addresses in order to join, making it potentially vulnerable to attack by spammers.

Twitter currently boasts an estimated 6 million users, and it has increasingly become a place where users like to report their reactions to major events like the Super Bowl and the presidential inauguration -- giving spammers all the more incentive to use software like Tweet Tornado to invade this growing space.
