Twitter is now home to ExecTweets, a project initiated by blog advertising network Federated Media and funded by Microsoft. ExecTweets gleans tweets from top executives and business users, including Amazon's Werner Vogels, Virgin's Richard Branson, and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, VentureBeat reports.
ExecTweets allows people to follow these executives in one place as well as vote on which tweets they like best. Another feature allows people to access "Top Links," which is a list of the links tweeted by these top executives, while a "Hot Topics" area shows the most popular term currently being tweeted.
Twitter is sitting pretty on $35 million from a funding round in February, and ExecTweets is also offering Twitter another means of revenue, though the specifics of the deal are unclear. "We can't talk about terms of the deal, but we did want to share some of the revenue with Twitter to support them," Federated Media's John Battelle told VentureBeat.
