Google Inc. plans to expand its search product, Google Video Search, to include personal video clips and video logs or "vlogs".
In January 2005, Google announced the availability of Google Video Beta. The service enables users to search the content of television programs from TV content providers including PBS, Fox News, C-SPAN and the NBA.
The expanded Google Video Search will enable users to search personal video clips or vlogs. The company is expected to make an announcement within a few days.
On the company's website, Google requested users to submit videos to their search portal by stating: "We are interested in working with you to better understand what content you have and what format it is in. If you're interested in making your content available on Google Video, please fill out this form. The more information you can provide the better. Google is not currently accepting home video or adult content."
Google's expansion of video search pits the company again rival Yahoo! Inc., which has been venturing more into the online entertainment industry.
The company did not comment whether ads will be served on Google Video.
