America Online, Inc. and YellowPages.com have partnered to feature YellowPages.com, SBC SMARTpages.com and BellSouth RealPages.com advertisers on AOL Yellow Pages.
AOL Yellow Pages is the company's online yellow pages product that provides listings and information for more than 13 million businesses. YellowPages.com will have ad listings integrated, hosted and displayed within the AOL Yellow Pages product.
"We're committed to providing AOL audiences with the very best in local search and directory products and we're pleased to bring the YellowPages.com advertiser content portfolio to our popular brands and services," says Jim Riesenbach, SVP, AOL Search and Directional Media Group.
Analysts see the move as AOL attempting to strengthen its growth in the local search sector. The Kelsey Group estimates that 70 percent of U.S. households today use the internet as an information source when shopping locally for products and services.
"We are proud to be associated with AOL and its strong brand. Our advertisers, with a single buy, will now be in front of millions of consumers through the fastest growing internet Yellow Pages distribution network in the industry," says Charles Stubbs, president and CEO, YellowPages.com.
