AOL Search Reveals Summer Trends

For insight into what's hot and what's not, AOL has once again released a list of the top summer searches by category from its AOL Search Index.

AOL Search is powered by Google technology and is available on the portal, and the AOL service.

"The activity that we see on AOL Search is an excellent gauge for the topics and people that are currently hot and also gives us insight into evolving trends before they hit the mainstream. Summer is always a time of travel and blockbuster movies, and by looking at search trends on AOL Search we have a unique and advanced perspective on who or what will be popular this season," says Sarah Ivey, search trends analyst, AOL Search.

According to the numbers, most searchers are ready to kick back with a cosmo, try their luck at the slots, and settle into watch an old favorite television show hit the big screen. Las Vegas held on as the top search for destinations, with Disney World ranking number one among the theme park goers. The top cocktail search was the cosmopolitan and "Big Brother" took the prize for the top reality television search.

Actresses filled out the top four spots for the top celebrity search, with Angelina Jolie at number one, followed by Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson.
