WB's "Supernatural" Debuts Online

The WB Television network and Yahoo! Inc. announced that the new WB series, "Supernatural," will debut online before it airs on television.

Yahoo! users will be able to stream the premiere episode from September 6  to 13. The TV premiere airs on September 13.

The series is about two brothers who search for their missing father while encountering evil forces.

"You have to scream really loud and really compel the audience to choose your show over the array of other shows being presented to them at the same time. You have to find nontraditional ways to reach the audience," says WB Entertainment President David Janollari.

Janollari said that by promoting the series online help to appeal to the target audience of younger adult viewers.

The value for Yahoo! is providing more content for its users.

"It helps Yahoo! users make more informed decisions about what they want to view and gives networks and studios more information about what users are really most interested in," says David Katz, vice president of entertainment and sports, Yahoo!

Last year WB an online promotion for the pilot of its drama "The Mountain" before it aired on the network. Yahoo! did not comment on whether it plans to stream ads within the online premiere of "Supernatural."
