Microsoft Considers Buying AOL
Microsoft Corp. is said to be in talks with Time Warner Inc. about purchasing a stake in Time Warner's America Online, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Currently AOL uses Google's search technology, but with the rumored talks AOL would switch to using Microsoft's search engine. AOL has being using Google's search engine since 2002. Google pays AOL a portion of the ad revenue from searches generated by AOL users. In 2004, AOL got about $300 million in revenues form the arrangement with Google's search technology.
