CBS.com Launches Blogs

CBS.com is launching a series of blogs relating to CBS primetime programs. The programs' actors, writers and producers will collaborate to create blogs that give audiences insider information on the filming of the shows. This launch comes a little over a month after CBS.com began serving podcasts.

Larry Kramer, president, CBS Digital Media, notes, "The public's appetite for personal blogs continues to grow by leaps and bounds, and so it only makes sense to offer the stars and creative talent of America's most watched network to this growing audience. Additionally, we're confident these blogs will help drive traffic to our sites, while also increasing the visibility of these series on a whole new platform and build an even stronger relationship with the viewers."

CBS.com currently features blogs on "Survivor: Guatemala," "CSI:  Miami," "How I Met Your Mother" and "Ghost Whisperer."

Nancy Tellem, president, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group, adds, "Blogs are a great way to bring the millions of viewers who enjoy our programming into the creative process. Each week, fans of our shows will be able to go online and read about what it's like to work on the show, what went into a particular episode or what's on the mind of one of our actors. It's a great bonus for our viewers, and a unique way to give them an exclusive look behind the scenes of their favorite shows."
