Motorola has partnered with MTV Networks International in launching "Head and Body," a new entertainment series especially produced for mobile handsets.
Created by the New-York based @radical media, "Head and Body" features a character whose head is detached from his body. The comedy, shot in Tijuana and Los Angeles, follows the character's adventures of meeting women. This live-auction series target teenagers and young adults, who are expected to become major users of mobile entertainment content.
The series, which contains eight short episodes, is available for users to download from Motorola's web site. Comedy Central (like MTV, a part of Viacom) also distributes the series in the United States.
"By collaborating with MTV Networks International to create the Head and Body series, Motorola Has redefined the way mobile content is developed for the third screen," says Leslie Dance, corporate vice president, global marketing and communications, MTV. "Head and Body is a unique and witty entertainment series that marks the future if mobile phone entertainment and programming."
MTV did not disclose any details whether it plans to show ads in the future for "Head and Body" so the deal is viewed as a co-branding effort between MTV and Motorola.
