HotRecorder, a unit of the United Virtualities Group, announced the launch of HotRecorder for Media.

The new tool allows users to download music by recording and converting iTunes and Yahoo! Music Unlimited sound files to universal formats playable on any personal music device.

The launch of the HotRecorder now enables users of non-Apple MP3 players to play iTunes files.

"HotRecorder for Media enables its users to regain control of their downloaded music, as they have when they buy a CD," says, Sabrina Spagnolo, HotRecorder's corporate communications manager.

HotRecorder for Media is not serving any ads within the tool, according to a company spokesperson.
