Microsoft's Online Ad Push
It is reported that Microsoft Corp. is reshaping its company by creating online services that will be paid by advertising or subscriptions, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Company Chairman Bill Gates had sent an email memo to top executives on October 30 saying that Microsoft should better address technologies and trends that make money on the internet.
"The next sea change is upon us," Gates wrote in his email, according to the WSJ.
Early this month, Microsoft Corp. announced the launch of Windows Live and Office Live, two online services of popular MSN software lines.
The services will be ad supported and are also seen as a way to compete against Yahoo! and Google.
