Marketing Scoop, LLC has launched SAFELINK, an advocacy program asking marketers to provide assurances that emails and embedded URL links are safe to consumers.
SAFELINK requires legitimate marketers to register before providing them with a digital certificate and icon for inclusion in all HTML emails. The company says that when consumers receive emails with the SAFELINK icon, consumers will know that their email is safe and legitimate.
Marketing Scoop says SAFELINK will help legitimate email marketers fight against spam.
"Not enough has been done to solve the problem of non-solicited email. Legislation is not enough. The only way to solve this problem once and for all is with an advocacy program where all consumers join together and fight back," says Marketing Scoop President Michael Fleischner.
