Pepsi Teams with Yahoo! for Promo

In a new integrated promotion, dubbed Free Ride, Pepsi is bringing together the biggest celebrities in racing and car culture with the hottest trend on the road-- car customization. As part of the promotion -- running from January 30 through April 10 -- Pepsi is awarding one customized 2007 Chevy Tahoe every day for the 70 days, and $20 cash-for-gas prizes-- one for every minute of the sweepstakes.

Four-time Nextel Cup Champion and Pepsi driver Jeff Gordon, new Mountain Dew driver Brian Vickers, and Xzibit, host of MTV's Pimp My Ride, have each tricked out their own version of the all-new 2007 Chevy Tahoe. Xzibit, Gordon and Vickers also kicked off the promotion with two television commercials created by BBDO New York. In each spot, two Pepsi drinkers are surprised by Chevy Tahoes falling out of the sky after twisting off a Pepsi Free Ride cap. Xzibit, Gordon and Vickers make cameo appearances as they hop out of the vehicles and toss the keys to the winners.

Yahoo! is the exclusive online partner of the Free Ride promotion. In addition to developing and powering the program sites pepsifreeride.com and dewfreeride.com, Yahoo is promoting the Pepsi Free Ride on its front page and across the Yahoo properties Yahoo Autos and Yahoo Autos Custom, Yahoo Sports, Yahoo Music, Yahoo Games and Yahoo Mail. A custom, interactive Pepsi Free Ride Instant Messaging IMVironment is also available.
