Pod2Mobile Enables Radio Podcast Ads

Pod2Mobile has introduced a new suite of advertising solutions that will incorporate advertising into podcasts utilizing the company's software, which sends podcasts and radio programs to consumers' mobile phones over-the-air.

"Podcasting is a pure pull medium, which means the audience is listening because they actually want to hear the programming. Pod2Mobile's solution extends podcasters' reach to wireless phones while creating an opportunity for Madison Avenue to reach fickle audiences directly in their pocket," says Brad Zutaut, co-founder of Pod2Mobile. "We believe we are doing for podcasting what Google's AdSense did for online advertising."

Pod2Mobile's solution offers a matrix of statistical data to the advertiser about where their ads were heard and by how many people, among other information.

According to BusinessWeek, Sequoia Capital believes podcasting is positioned to capture $1 to $2 billion away from the $30 billion traditional radio advertising market over the next three to five years. And eMarketer predicts that an estimated $80 million in podcast ad spending in 2006 will balloon to $300 million in 2010.
