On the heels of its announcement last week about leaving the adware business to focus on PersonalWeb, Claria yesterday announced plans for a joint venture with Yahoo! Japan and SOFTBANK Corp. to provide the personalization platform to consumers in Japan.
The joint venture will enable users to obtain a more customized web experience via the delivery of personalized content such as news, music, video, product recommendations and advertising based on their unique interests.
"As we launch PersonalWeb, Claria's first application of the personalization platform, we are delighted to be partnering with Yahoo Japan and Softbank to enable a highly relevant online experience for consumers in Japan," says Scott VanDeVelde, president and CEO of Claria.
